ABOUT

Arknights is a tower defense gacha game developed and published in China by Hypergrpyh (published by Yostar everywhere else).

In the game's main story, you play as "The Doctor", one of the leaders of Rhodes Island, a pharmeseutical company with the goal of findig a cure to a disease called "Oripathy", caused by a natural resaourse on the game's planet, Terra. There are several event stories that focus on various characters and locations throughout Terra, many of said locations being based on real-world countries.

My experience with the game

I first heard of the game from, of all things, a "DidYouKnowGaming" video (I was obsessed with that channel in middle and high school) and of course, the old animated ads that would play on YouTube. However, I didn't start playing until November 2021 (4 years ago!) after suddenly remembering the old ads while bored at work one night.

Since then, it's been one of the very few gacha games I've stuck with and continue to play to this day, and has been an obession (special interest?) of mine.

It also helped me re-gain an interest in learning about animals, something I loved to do when I was little, but fell out of once I got older.
