Arknights is a tower defense gacha game developed and published in China by Hypergrpyh (published by Yostar everywhere else).
The game focuses on Rhodes Island, a phareseutical company with the goal of findig a cure to a disease called "Oripathy", caused by a natural resaourse on the game's planet, Terra

My experience with the game
I first heard of the game from, of all things, a "DidYouKnowGaming" video (I was obsessed with that channel in middle and high school) and of course, the old animated ads that would play on YT. However, I didn't start playing until November 2021 (almost 4 years ago!) after suddenly remembering the old ads.
Since then, it's been one of the very few Gacha games I've stuck with and continue to play to this day! It also helped me re-gain an interest in learning about animals, something I loved when I was little.
It's also helped me through a rough patch where I was getting out of a bad job and was unemployed for months.
